Service Description

Trim the tree with something you made yourself. In this single-session wheel class, you'll throw a small set of wheel-thrown Christmas ornaments — a fun, festive change of pace from your usual functional pieces. Throwing small is its own skill: you'll work with small amounts of clay, centering and shaping tiny forms with precision, then cut, trim, and pierce a hanging hole so each piece is ready to hang once it's fired. We'll also cover a few simple ways to decorate your ornaments before they head to the kiln. Prerequisites You must have completed a beginner wheel throwing series. You should be comfortable centering small amounts of clay on your own. Firing & Follow-Up Firing tickets are not included. Please be comfortable signing up for additional independent study sessions, at additional cost, to trim, glaze, and fire your pieces. What to Bring Hand towel — the studio does not provide towels or paper towels. Apron (optional). Soft rib, if you have one. Come throw a little holiday cheer for your tree.
