Service Description

Give your front door a one-of-a-kind welcome. In this single-session handbuilding class, you'll design and build your own house number plate — a functional piece of pottery made to hang or display right at your doorstep. You'll use slab building to form your base plate, and coiling to add dimension, borders, or raised numbers and details. This class is beginner friendly, but builds on skills you've already started developing in a prior class. Prerequisites You must have completed a prior series class, in either handbuilding or wheel throwing. You should be comfortable glazing your own piece independently — glazing is not covered in this session. Firing & Follow-Up Firing tickets are not included. Please be comfortable signing up for additional independent study sessions, at additional cost, to finish and glaze your piece. Skills Covered Slab building Coiling What to Bring Hand towel — the studio does not provide towels or paper towels. Apron (optional). Come design a piece that welcomes you home.
