Mud and Easel - Potter's circle
Mud and Easel - Potter's circle
3 hours (Mud and Easel community only)
Service Description
The Potters' Circle At a certain point in your practice, you've learned the skills and don't need a teacher anymore, but you still love the idea of sitting down with your community and making alongside them. That's exactly what this is. The Potters' Circle is a one-time (however many times you want) no-commitment gathering for studio members: a chance to meet in a class setting, swap stories, share your work, and feel united in what you create. It isn't a structured class. It's a meeting of potters, hosted by Srishti, part group critique, part studio hangout, part deep dive into pottery philosophy. Every circle is run a little differently, shaped by what the group wants to explore. A session might include: Show and tell — bring something you've made recently, or a work in progress to get suggestions or simply talk through where you're at Pottery exchange — bring a piece you loved making and share it with the group Demos and combined making — not from a single teacher, but from all of us, because everyone has something to show and something to learn Artist study — looking at a maker's work together Challenges — timed rounds, a blindfold challenge, or the rescue challenge, where we mess a piece up on purpose and learn to save it Guided sessions or a shared project — making something similar side by side Decorating technique demos or glaze discussions. Come to laugh, to be inspired, and to keep deepening your craft in good company, while still creating peacefully at your own pace. Who It's For Studio members or anyone who has completed a beginners class at mud and easel. This is for people who'd like to stay connected with the community. Firing Firing tickets are not included. What to Bring Something you've made recently to show, or a work in progress to discuss Hand towel — the studio does not provide towels or paper towels Apron (optional) Come as you are, and bring your work. We can't wait to see it.
