Service Description

Make one piece you love, then make it again. In this 4-week beginner-friendly series, you'll learn slab building techniques and how to use templates to clone your clay pieces, so you can build matching sets, repeat favorite forms, and get clean, consistent shapes every time. You'll start by rolling even slabs and cutting forms from our provided templates, scoring and slipping your joins so seams stay strong. Then you'll go deeper, learning to design and make your own templates so your ideas can become repeatable pieces. Next, you'll explore texture and other decorating techniques, pressing, carving, stamping, and layering surfaces while your slabs are still soft and willing. In the final week, you'll learn glazing and bring your projects to life as beautiful finished pieces. Class Format 4 weeks. Prerequisites None. This class is beginner friendly. Clay usage is unlimited throughout class. Your class cost includes 2 firing tickets. Unused tickets don't expire, so you can use them in a future class or independent study module, and you can always purchase more if you need them. Age Requirement 15+ What to Bring Hand towel (the studio does not provide towels or paper towels) Apron (optional) Comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting messy No trimming tool is needed for this class. Pickup Policy Pieces are ready for pickup 10-14 days after your last session. The studio does not store pieces for more than one month after your class ends, so please finish and pick up your pieces promptly. Come build once, and clone it with confidence.
