Service Description
This is an in-depth 10-week course designed for artists eager to push the boundaries of painting through abstraction. Focused on gestural painting, mark-making, floral abstraction, and expressive techniques, this class is an immersive exploration of materiality, process, and personal artistic voice. Students will work with egg tempera, handmade acrylic, and oil, with guided instruction on surface preparation, including canvas, wood panels, and clayboard. The course emphasizes experimentation—expect to create multiple small studies on paper alongside major works that explore each medium individually and in layered combinations. Demos and discussions will cover composition, color theory, expression, intuition, subconscious flow, and material manipulation. Rather than replicating images, students will develop their own language, allowing for deep personal exploration. Group critiques, artist presentations and discussions will foster a rich learning environment where we engage with each other’s work and creative processes. This is a class for artists ready to experiment, take risks, and engage in thoughtful dialogue about painting and art. While you will receive structured lessons, individual mentoring, and technical instruction, you are encouraged to bring your imagination and ideas—this is a space to think beyond conventional boundaries. Age - 16+ What to Bring: This class will have a developing supply list and each week artists will be guided on materials and tools that you need to bring. Please look out for emails from the studio for supply lists as we move forward in this class.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation and Booking Policy Refund Policy: Bookings for classes, workshops, events, and private lessons canceled 14 or more calendar days before the scheduled date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made 8 days prior to the class or event will be eligible for a 50% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made 7 days or less before the class/course are not eligible for a refund or a reschedule. Studio-Initiated Cancellations In the event that the studio needs to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies, equipment outages, weather delays, or other urgent situations, we will notify all enrolled students as early as possible before the scheduled class. To accommodate the missed session, the instructor will provide a new sign-up sheet with potential times for a makeup class. In cases where the event is entirely canceled or cannot be rescheduled, the studio will issue refunds as follows: Workshops: A full refund will be provided. Series Classes: A partial refund equivalent to the missed class(es) will be offered.
